YHWH/God is ALWAYS speaking to us. He speaks through dreams, visions, nature, people, numbers, and every day things. This morning I was standing in my kitchen, when I heard all of these birds. They were so loud, that I went outside to see what was going on. When I looked up, a group of about thirty or more birds were all sitting in the branches of one of the trees in my back yard. They were just all sitting there squawking. I observed for a few moments; and then went back into the house. I said: “Father, what was that about?” I went upstairs to get my bible; and He lead me to 1 Kings 17:4 – You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there; as well as Luke 12:24 –Look at the birds. They don’t plant, harvest, or save food in houses or barns, but God feeds them. And you are worth much more than crows.
In that moment, I felt God reminding me that He will always provide for and take care of me. Earlier in the morning, a friend of mine stopped by unexpectedly and gave me two big bags of clothes and boots for my daughters. During the afternoon, my sister stopped by unexpectedly and dropped of a bunch of hats, watches, shoes, clothes, fruits and snacks for our household. I look at YHWH/God, and all I can do and just praise Him. My heart is filled with gratitude, because of His faithfulness to His word. Nearly five years ago, He told me to stop working, to trust Him and that He would provide for me. He has been oh, SO very faithful. I could go on and on about how He has provided above and beyond anything that I’ve asked or imagined, but there isn’t enough space on this blog. I’m at a place in my life where I just trust God. I truly believe that He can not mismanage my life. How about you? Do you trust Him? How has He provided for you?
Marriage is like a life long course in selflessness and servitude. You put aside your own desires, in favor of those of your spouse and children. From what I can tell, it’s a beautiful thing. You go in as this person who you think you are; but with each passing day, week, month, year….you become so much more. You really don’t realize how much of a worm you were; until you look back, and see how much you’ve evolved into the beautiful butterfly that you are today.
The most beautiful thing about marriage, is that it’s an institution between God, husband and wife. God is the foundation and center of it all. He’s where our needs and desires get met. He is where the wisdom comes from on what to do daily….how to treat your spouse…..how to care for and instruct your children…..when and how to rest. He is the great gift giver; which means that our spouses and children are good and perfect gifts, and we are to steward them well.
Being a full time Stay At Home Wife & Mom (SAHWM) never entered my mind. I resisted it at first; but I’m glad I finally submitted to this treasure God had for me. I absolutely LOVE being with my children all day! They are so funny to me; and I just love how energetic and enthusiastic they are about the things that interest them. I love watching the interaction between all four of them; as well as how they interact with my husband and others. One of the greatest treasures is looking at things through their eyes. They are pureness, perpetual energy, brilliance and inquisitiveness all wrapped up into one. It’s such an honor to watch them grow holistically. My oldest son has had such discernment, ever since before he was able to talk. His spiritual eyes are open. Just last week, as I was sharing the KJV version of the Lord’s prayer that I learned as a kid, my son said: <Gasp!> “MOM!! I see the angels!” (as I was saying the prayer). My second son is very perceptive. Last week, we started reading the book of 1 Kings. As we read chapter 1, which happened to be on the day of inauguration, my second son said: “Mommy, Adonijah is Joe Biden and Solomon is President Trump.” I just admire how they so readily believe in God; and that He can do anything.
Being my husband’s wife is quite the adventure! Prior to meeting him, I never considered myself a morning person…..well at least not early morning. How did I end up with a person who got up EVERY morning at 4 am??????? In the beginning it was rough. My husband is Mr. Talkative and full of all of this energy and these great ideas in the mornings. I did not want to hear him or anyone else until after 9 am. Over time, I realized that getting up with him at 4 am was an opportunity. I could learn about everything on his mind…..no detail left out, if I got up with him. And so I did. Just when I got into the rhythm of getting up at 4, he started getting up at 2. Needless to say, part of my appreciation for being a SAHW is that I can go to bed, get up, and take naps at my leisure.
One of my favorite things about being my husband’s wife, is being a sounding board for him. One day he came home and asked my thoughts on a potentially lucrative business proposal that someone wanted him to invest in. After hearing about it, I said that it didn’t even align with who we were. He called the guy right away and declined the offer.
Though I never imagined that I’d ever be a full-time SAHWM, I am so glad that I am! I enjoy planning their meals and snacks, school days, and the challenge of keeping my home in order. I also enjoy making sure that my husband has good meals before he leaves and when he stops in during the day. I especially enjoy that God has taken such good care of me through it all. He makes sure that I have the help that I need. He makes sure that I get the breaks that I need. He makes sure that I have all that I need. I remember years ago when I saw 2 Corinthians 9:8 in bold black letters in a dream. I woke up and looked it up; and God has been true to His word without fail. When he said that He was able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) COME to me in abundance; He meant it….and nothing less.
Just within the last month or so, a kind stranger paid for my groceries. My sister bought my kids a bunch of new clothes and their favorite treats. My mom also blessed my children with some of their favorite things. My chef brought us a huge box of snacks; and baked us some of her most nutritious treats. I called my husband a couple days ago to ask for the psi of my tires. He showed up two minutes later; and filled all of my tires with air. That was such a blessing; because it has been very COLD here where we live. I recognize all of these things and people to be expressions of God’s love grace being poured out on my family and me. Still one of my most favorite things that God does is the multiple flower deliveries throughout the month. I am still so grateful to God’s nature. He is SO kind and loving to us. I only desired one bouquet of flowers; but God’s thoughts were exceedingly above my thoughts and imagination. He’s so precious; and every time I receive a new flower delivery, my heart overflows with gratitude all over again. God takes care of His children; and I believe He has such a special place in His heart for wives and mothers. If you are a Stay At Home Wife and or Mom, please share how God has treasured and taken care of you.
I trust all is well! I’ve been praying and thinking about the direction of this blog; and have shifted focus just a little. In the past, I’ve posted primarily about fitness and wellness, homeschool/unschool, as well as faith. I will continue to post about fitness and wellness on both of my Good Thing Fitness blog and YouTube channel. Please do subscribe and share! This year, there will be more of a focus on faith, family/unschool and finances. I want YHWH/God to be at the center of everything that I do; because He alone is the source of every blessing in my life. I have faith in Him; because He pursued and fiercely loved me at the most difficult time in my life; and He has been faithful to His covenant with me. I have a family because of Him. When it looked like I would never have children, He proved otherwise. I am financially blessed, because of the principles of His word; and because He honored (and still is honoring) by desire to be a kingdom philanthropist.
So as this year gets underway, I speak a blessing over all of you, from Deuteronomy 30:8 & 9:
May you obey the Lord and follow after Him; and He make you most prosperous in all the work of your hands. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
I’ve been reading the books of I & II Samuel to my children. 2 Samuel 12:8 stood out to me. How giving is YHWH/God to all of us? He gave David Saul’s house and wives; as well as made him king over Israel and Judah, and then said to him: If that wasn’t enough, I would’ve given you more. Who says that? David had cities, houses, wives, servants, horses, mules, sheep, cattle, other farm animals, gold, silver and more….and God said He would have given him more if that wasn’t enough. How generous and lavish is YHWH/God?! Of course I began thinking about the Father’s generosity in my life. I have the kindest and most generous neighbors. We rarely return from our walks empty-hearted or handed. So many times, these people bless us with smiles and compliments. We have picked fruits, veggies and flowers from nearly every neighbor’s yard with a fruit tree or garden. My sweet neighbor Ms. Mare has given the kids so many neat games, toys and experiences. There’s a man who we met once, that leaves toys and games for the kids on our front porch from time to time.
I remember prior to having children, I wanted two boys and a girl (in that order). Not only did YHWH/God bless me with two boys and a girl in that order, He also exceeded my expectation with my baby girl. She is the MOST JOYFUL person I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. All of my children are absolute delights and blessings from Father. I just love them and I’m so very grateful that He gave me this great opportunity to train them in His way and impact generations to come. I don’t think it’s possible for YHWH/God to outdo Himself, but I think He came pretty close with these four children.
There is so much to thank YHWH/God for. It would take an eternity to list everything, so I’ll just choose a couple more things. I’m grateful for this country (U.S.A.). It might seem tumultuous right now; but it still is a great country. God loves us; and it’s very evident to me. He’s always looking for opportunities to bless us. I’m so encouraged by what’s going on in some pockets of the country…..thousands of salvations, pastors still having services in spite of fines and threats of being jailed, spontaneous worship breaking out in airports and other venues, believers drawing closer to the Most High. I just love it all!
I’ll end this post with a testimony of YHWH/God’s generosity. He is the most loving, kind and generous being ever. I thought to myself one night: “This house needs some flowers.” This was just a thought. I was thinking that a bouquet on the counter would be nice. Two days later, my husband wakes up and says: “I don’t know why, but I have this desire to get flowers for the house.” The very next day we hired a florist; and she has been bringing multiple bouquets of flowers to my home a couple times a month. Is YHWH/God not lavish and generous?! I was thinking one bouquet; but He was thinking multiple bouquets. I’m also grateful to Father for my husband. He’s a man that considers and hears from YHWH/God on everything. He’s definitely one of the best blessings of my life. I love hearing testimonies about YHWH/God’s goodness. How has He lavishly blessed you?
The month of July was filled with more learning adventures. We continued to do our every day activities such as reading, bike riding, playing outdoors, swimming and playing at the beach, playing at the park, cooking, cleaning, and personal hygiene…..just to name more than a few. We also continued our weekly lake/boating adventures, flying, practicing music; as well as visited a friend’s farm and got up close and personal with our neighbor’s garden.
My seven year old was all about Dr. Seuss books this past month. My six year old was all about building trenches at the beach. All of the kids at the beach all joined in and would help; whenever we went to the beach. My four year old is still very much into Bubble Guppies. She continued to recite all of the facts from the show to my husband and me. My two year old enjoys getting her hair done and nails painted; and whenever she sees a U.S. flag, she recites the Pledge of Allegiance.
The boys became very interested in learning to shoot guns; since a friend of theirs is being taught by her father. I checked a couple of the shooting ranges in our area; but found that the age is 18 for lessons; or ten if they are doing competition shooting. For now, they have toy dart guns; and they are very much enjoying them. All of the kids enjoy helping me with cooking and cleaning. They do not however, enjoy cleaning their own rooms.
As we did the various activities throughout our day, the kids asked lots of questions. Some of them included:
Do people die from rattlesnake bites?
Why do the mountains look blue from far away; but green from close up?
How does energy get in power lines?
Where does energy come from?
Why do fish eat worms?
Why do these snails stink?
We set out to find the answers to all of these questions and more. We learned about the various types of clouds and the characteristics that distinguished them. We got to observe cows, goats (some pregnant), chickens, hatching baby chicks, pigs and bunnies up close; as well as feed them. We also got to observe and pick veggies and flowers from our neighbor’s gardens.
We continued reading through the book of Matthew; and added Proverbs. It seems nearly impossible to get through a chapter without at least ten questions and observations. We also read about and discussed the digestive and reproductive systems of the body. These were some of my favorite discussions; because the kids are so interested in how their bodies function. I have always enjoyed reading and studying the body; because only YHWH/God can design such an incredibly efficient and intricate system that is programmed to pursue and produce life. It’s still one of the most amazing things to me! Explaining the reproductive system to my kids was the most natural thing. As we looked at the diagrams in the book, I explained to them that papas have testicles; which hold the seeds that produce babies…because everything starts from a seed. It’s the law in Genesis 8:22. I further explained that the eggs in mommy’s tummy is like the soil in the ground or in Ms. Mare’s (our neighbor) garden. When the seed goes into the egg, (just like when papa planted the tomato seeds), a baby starts to grow. They got it and that was that!

Today is Friday, I know; but I was determined not to let this week pass without posting my Wellness Wednesday post. This week’s declaration is based on Nehemiah 8:10 and is: The joy of the Lord is my strength! Growing up, Larnelle Harris was my favorite singer; and his “I Choose Joy” song was my favorite song (and still is one of them). The lyrics are:
To tell the truth, this world is full of trouble And if we live long enough it’s sure to come our way We’ve a choice to walk in fear and trembling Or claim the victory that’s already ours this very day
I choose joy I’ll never let the problems keep me down ‘Cause the Lord is working all things out For my good I choose joy
So when I wake and stumble to the mirror And what I see make me wish That I could stay in bed There’s a power deep within my being And it commands my soul to Praise the Lord with every breath
I choose joy I’ll never let the problems keep me down ‘Cause the Lord is working all things out For my good I choose joy
So when I find myself under a load Of circumstance and care God wants to know What I’m doing under there
I choose joy I’ll never let the problems keep me down ‘Cause the Lord is working all things out For my good
I have listened to this song so many times throughout my life; and it always reminds me that joy is choice, and it’s not based on circumstances. Whenever faced with a circumstance that does not line up with the word of YHWH/God, choose to strengthen yourself by praising the Most High anyway; and watch how it works out for your good. YHWH/God loves us SO much and He’s so good, that He set us up for victory in every situation. Therefore, it behooves us to praise Him no matter what!
This mobility exercise of the week is ankle circles. Stand on one leg, and lift the opposite one. Make circles with your big toe in one direction for ten or so repetitions; and then reverse and do it in the other direction. For a demonstration, click here. Have an EXCELLENT weekend and YHWH/God bless you!
This week’s declaration is based on Romans 12:19 and is: Vengeance is God’s. He will repay. As I look at the turmoil that is going on in our nation, I ask the following questions: What am I seeing? What is at the source of what I am seeing? What does the scripture say about what I am seeing? What does YHWH/God want me to do about what I am seeing? For every problem that we will ever encounter in life, YHWH/God has already provided a solution. I see it time and time again in scripture. If we look at the story of the Children of Israel, we see that they were enslaved, mistreated, and lived in anguish. However, when the vengeance of the Lord came; it all but wiped out Egypt; and if you read the account in the book of Jasher, you’ll see that one of the Pharoahs who treated them so harshly, was plagued with a flesh rotting disease for ten years, died, and was buried dishonorably. Trust YHWH/God that He has everything figured out; and we do not have to explode, destroy things and communities, or hurt people, because of a perceived injustice or weariness. No matter how unjust a situation might seem; allow YHWH/God…..the Judge, Lawgiver and King (Isaiah 33:22) to make a righteous ruling and enact vengeance. YHWH/God’s word far outweighs our perceptions, attitudes and emotions.
The mobility exercise of the week is hip circles. You’re going to stand up tall, with your feet about hip distance apart; and shoulders down away from your ears. You’re going to engage your core by pulling your navel into your spine. You’re going to soften your knees and then make circles below the waist with your pelvis. See a demonstration here. As always, have an excellent rest of your week and I’ll see you soon!
If we truly understood how our words impact our lives; we would only say what YHWH/God says. This is such a great post on this subject from Pure Glory.
by Apostle Gabriel Cross Recently, I was reading (Proverbs 6:2)”Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art caught by the words of your mouth.” The word snare means entrapped or barbed. Then the Holy Spirit began to show me some words of entrapment (inner vows) in my heart. One was, “here […]
YHWH/God is EVERYTHING to me. He is the love of my life and the center of my world. If I didn’t know Him, the first thing I’d do is get to know Him. My recommendation for anyone who doesn’t know Him, is to do the same. It’s a decision that you will never regret.
At a time when people are uncertain and unsure;
my gaze is fixed on the one I adore.
The Alpha, the Omega, the One who does not fail;
You’re my stability and the One, who causes me to prevail.
Despite the circumstances going on around me,
I’m joyful, full of praise, because You made me free!
You’re the truth.. my assurance..I trust You above all;
Even if the world seems to be at a complete stall.
My faith, my hope, my trust is in You…
The God who has consistently and faithfully come through.
I take comfort in knowing that nothing surprises You;
You saw the end from the beginning; and provided for this too.
Every knee has to bow to the name above all names;
even this virus and fear, has to do the same.
Thank you precious Father, for all you have done,
for me to possess your promises, through the death of your son.
Psalm 121:7-8 (TPT) – He will keep you from every form of evil or calamity as he continually watches over you. 8 You will be guarded by God Himself. You will be safe when you leave your home and safely you will return. He will protect you now, and he’ll protect you forevermore!
Thank you for knowing that I would sometimes feel fear;
And for assuring me that, You’d always be here.
What a relief is Psalm 121: 7- 8…
It says: You guard me Yourself! This makes me feel great!
