In 2016, I went to the polls to vote. I had no intentions of voting for Hilary Clinton or Donald Trump. I was going to write in the name of a person who I thought would make a great president. As far as I was concerned, neither were deserving of my vote. To my surprise, I heard a voice (almost audibly) say “Trump.” I was like, ohhh nooooo…..I MUST be hearing things. My mind then went back to a story in a book that my husband and I read years earlier, about how Trump had paid off a man’s mortgage; because the man had stopped to fix a flat on his limo…..or something to that effect. I knew the all too familiar voice; so I voted for Trump. No one was more shocked than me. I was almost too embarrassed to tell anyone …even my husband. Come to find out, my husband was also lead to vote for Trump. It was at this point that I knew beyond all shadows of doubt that this was a God thing. We waited up to see the result of the election; and were cautiously happy about the result.
For the next few weeks or so, I poured myself into doing my own research on then President-elect Trump. I went through books, watched documentaries and videos, looked up prophecies concerning our nation and this particular man. I realized that the picture painted by the media and what I had found; were almost completely opposite. 1 Samuel 16:7 says man looks at the outward appearance; but God looks at the heart. Trump ran for president because he did not like the direction in which the country was moving. He got together with some pastors to pray about running for office in 2008; but he learned that it was not the right time. Then after He sought the Lord again, and it was revealed to him to run for office in the 2016 election.
I support President Trump because I believe that He is appointed by God. Romans 13:1 says: Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. Though he might not say or tweet things that are politically correct; or that I’m necessarily in agreement with, it doesn’t make him a Godless or immoral man. His background might not be as stellar as some may think it should be; but SO WHAT??? I’ve yet to meet a person without sin, transgression or iniquity. If people were perfect, there would be no need for Jesus/Yeshua. Moses was a murderer; but that did not impede His call to lead the Children of Israel out of captivity. If I’m being totally transparent, I need not look outside of my own life. There are things in my past and areas in my life that are less than perfect; but it does not stop me from doing and being who God has called me to be.
Second, 1 Timothy 2: 1-2 says: First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. Also Proverbs 21:1 (ESV) states: The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord, He turns it wherever He will. As true believers, our resolve should be to obey the word of God above our fickle feelings and emotions. God omniscient. When we don’t trust and obey God, we are idolizing our own thoughts and feelings.
Third, in an interview that I watched of him, the interviewer asked him what he wanted his legacy as president to be; to which he responded: “I want to be known as the president who prayed the most.” Colossians 4:2 (NIV) states: Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
Fourth, He restricted access to abortion. I know that this is a HIGHLY emotional and therefore, controversial topic. I’m not here to condemn any one. God’s grace is sufficient for all of us; no matter what we’ve done. I’m simply stating facts and spiritual truths. Proverbs 6:16 – 19 (AMP) says: These six things the Lord hates; Indeed, seven are repulsive to Him: 17 A proud look [the attitude that makes one overestimate oneself and discount others], a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that creates wicked plans, Feet that run swiftly to evil, 19 A false witness who breathes out lies [even half-truths], And one who spreads discord (rumors) among brothers. I have learned that when God tells us not to do something, it’s for our own good. He doesn’t want us to suffer unnecessarily; nor does He want the flow of our blessings to be obstructed. I think it most interesting that the above mentioned verse lists the THINGS that God’s hate; instead of the people who have done these things. Many years ago when I attended my Montessori Teacher training, I was taught to separate the child from the behavior. In other words, the child IS NOT the behavior. This is how God is with us. Anyway, let’s continue on.
Fifth, He recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and made plans to have the U.S. embassy moved there. Psalm 122:6 (NKJV) says: Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you. Psalm 48:2 (ERV): His city is such a pleasant place. It brings joy to people from around the world. Mount Zion is the true mountain of God. It is the city of the great King. By doing this, he put our nation in a position to prosper.
Finally, witches have gathered on a number of occasions to curse and put hexes on President Trump. Satan doesn’t come against his own kingdom. He comes against the kingdom of God. Deuteronomy 18:9-12 (MSG) says: When you enter the land that God, your God is giving you, don’t take on the abominable ways of life of the nations there. Don’t you dare sacrifice your son or daughter in the fire. Don’t practice divination, sorcery, fortunetelling, witchery, casting spells, holding séances, or channeling with the dead. People who do these things are an abomination to God. It’s because of just such abominable practices that God, your God, is driving these nations out before you.
Matthew 12:25-28 (ERV) says: Jesus knew what the Pharisees were thinking. So he said to them, “Every kingdom that fights against itself will be destroyed. And every city or family that is divided against itself will not survive. 26 So if Satan forces out his own demons, then he is fighting against himself, and his kingdom will not survive. 27 You say that I use the power of Satan to force out demons. If that is true, then what power do your people use when they force out demons? So your own people will prove that you are wrong. 28 But I use the power of God’s Spirit to force out demons, and this shows that God’s kingdom has come to you.
In conclusion, I pray that if you’re a believer, you will recognize what and who is of God; as well as partner with Him and His agenda for our nation; rather than opinions, emotions and the high thoughts of today. Remember, that God loves us. He loves people. He loves our nation. He loves to bless us; but we can halt His blessings in our lives if we are not in alignment with His will. Amos 3:7 (NIV) says: Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. Just as God has prophets that He speaks to and through, satan also has his prophets and people who he speaks through (remember Elijah and the prophets of baal). The next time you’re listening to the news or a partisan debate, ask yourself: “Is this the voice of God?” or “Does this align with the voice of God?” If your answer is no, you’ll have to make a decision on whether or not to eliminate that voice in your life. As always, have an EXCELLENT week and I’ll see you around the blogosphere!
